National Be a Blessing Day

Genesis 12:3 lays out the universal human mission: to be a blessing to all the families of the earth—human and otherwise. Taking chapter and verse as our guide, we celebrate December 3rd (12/3) as Be a Blessing Day: a day for cultivating lovingkindness toward person and planet. While we prescribe no set practice, we do encourage people to identify and drop zero-sum narratives that promote their thriving at the cost of another’s suffering; to study ethical teachings rooted in traditions other than their own; and to actively engage in acts of loving kindness as individuals, families, and communities.

The National Be a Blessing Day Breakfast is an online gathering of people from around the globe who seek to make the world better for their being born into it.

While the breakfast is free, we hope you will consider making a tax-deductible donation of $36.00 or more to One River Foundation to help support our work.

Participants are required to bring their own coffee or tea or other morning beverage, and their nosh – donuts, cookies, cereal, or whatever.
